NEARLY 40 Commencement Notices were received relating to housing developments in County Clare last month, new figures have revealed.
The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage has published its monthly data on the number of Notices (residential construction starts) received across the country during October.
The data show Commencement Notices for 2,624 new homes were received by Building Control Authorities (nationally) last month - an increase of 42.5% on the number of new homes commenced in the same month last year (1,841 units).
"The strong uptick in commencements this year has continued and 26,547 homes have been commenced in the first ten months of 2023. This is a 16.6% increase on the same period last year (22,760)," said a spokesperson.
While the 37 Commencement Notices received in Clare during October was five more than in September (32), it was five less the same month last year when 42 Commencement Notices were received.
So far in 2023, 495 Commencement Notices have been received for new residential units across the Banner County.
