ON THE search for rare bumblebees around Clare is the focus of one upcoming educational talk.

'Searching for Ireland’s Rare Bumblebee Species' is taking place on October 20 from 11am in Limerick city library.

Host and Clare based environmental education enthusiast, Áine Ní Fhlatharta, will discuss the latest project in tracking rare bee species.

There will be a workshop to discuss the decline, regeneration and future of bumblebee species in Clare and wider areas.

The event is funded by National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) of Ireland.

Áine is part of the Heritage in School scheme, undertaken by Clare County Council, where she goes to schools around the county to share her expertise in environment conservation.

The aim of this scheme is to “instil a greater sense of heritage awareness and appreciation, in a practical and teacher friendly way”.
