A SPECIAL family-friendly event will be taking place in Kilkee, one which many will remember as happening frequently years ago during the summer months.
Kilkee Chamber of Commerce & Kilkee Civic Trust have invited Ennis Brass Band to perform on Sunday, July 30.
The Brass Band will perform during 11am mass and will then march downtown via O’Curry Street to Kilkee Bandstand, where the concert will continue.
Joseph McCloskey, Honorary Secretary of Kilkee Civic Trust, mentioned that the event will most likely ‘evoke’ memories of “long-ago halcyon days, when the Big Bands were a routine feature of summer holidays and Sundays in Kilkee”.
Those who wish to attend are advised to bring their own deck chairs to Kilkee Bandstand on the day.
