CLARE footballer Fidelma Marrinan has been honoured with The Croke Park/Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) Player of the Month award for June 2023.
The 23-year-old forward, from the West Clare Gaels club, has played a key role in the Banner County’s march to a TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate semi-final against Antrim on Sunday, July 23.
As Clare progressed through the group phase, Fidelma notched 0-7 in the opening round win against Offaly, 2-9 in victory over Wicklow, and 0-3 as the Munster outfit drew with Tyrone.
Clare moved safely into the knockout phase against Westmeath last Sunday, with Fidelma collecting 2-9.
Earlier this year, Fidelma collected 1-6 in the Lidl National League Division 3 Final against Kildare, with Clare losing out narrowly after extra-time.
With a total haul of 4-28 to date, she currently sits second behind Down’s Natasha Ferris in the race for the 2023 ZuCar Golden Boot, which will be awarded to the highest scorer in the 2023 TG4 All-Ireland series across the Senior, Intermediate and Junior grades.
