'Booking essential' as Clare fans reap extra train services for All-Ireland Hurling Final

All roads lead to Croke Park on July 21, but those travelling to the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship are being asked to keep an eye on the Irish Rail website for additional service tickets.

A 10:00 Cork/Heuston service and 20:15 Heuston/Cork service have been added for hurling fans aiming to make it to the clash.

After a busy weekend journeying to the Semi-Final, a spokesperson for Irish Rail has said: "There is limited availability on services so don't miss out and buy now.

Those at the train service are warning customers to be on the lookout as services are expected to go quickly in order to make the 3:30pm throw-in.

In a statement from Irish Rail, the spokesperson continued: "Services will be extremely busy and priority will be given to customers who book their tickets online."

As it stands, the 07:00, 08:10, 09:40, and 10:00 services from Cork to Heuston are sold out, as well as the 09:35 from Mallow to Heuston.

Return services from Heuston to Cork at 18:55, 19:30, 20:05, and 20:15 are also sold out.

For Clare fans, the 07:30 and 09:20 Ennis to Heuston trains and the 19:15 and 19:50 return services are fully booked.

NOTE:

  • The 06:50 and 07:40 Limerick to Ennis trains and the 21:40 Ennis to Limerick will be replaced by bus transfers.
  • The 09:00 Limerick to Galway service includes bus transfers to Sixmilebridge and Ennis, with the train departing Ennis at 09:43.
  • The 08:25 Galway to Limerick will operate only to Ennis, with bus transfers from Ennis to Sixmilebridge and Limerick.
  • The 18:00 Heuston to Cork is deferred to 18:20.
  • The 19:00 Heuston to Cork will make an additional stop at Charleville.

Customers are being asked to check irishrail.ie for updates, and are being asked to note that there will be priority for those who book online.
