RIP: 'A very interesting lady'- Tributes pour in for beloved Clare woman after her passing

Taking to RIP.ie, many friends and past co-workers expressed their condolences

Tributes have come flooding in following the sad death of Clare woman Maura Verling. 

A native of Summerhill, Ennis, Ms Verling passed away peacefully at Cahercalla Community Hospital, where she was surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 7.

Predeceased by her brother Seán and her brother-in-law Pat Lyons, she will be sadly missed by her sister Eileen, brother Tom, niece Elizabeth, nephews Paul and Simon, sister-in-law Carmel, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Taking to RIP.ie, many friends and past co-workers expressed their condolences. 

One person said, "I've lovely memories of Maura, a kind and gentle lady, an honest worker while in the Social Welfare office and a real animal lover. May Maura's gentle soul now Rest in Peace."

Another commented, "My deepest sympathy to all the family on the loss of Maura. I have very fond memories of her when she worked in Social Welfare office. It’s many a lift she gave me in the evenings to town A very interesting lady with a great love for horses and animals. She was also so very kind. Even though I lost touch with her over the years her memory will live on in my garden with the two ivy trees she bought me one Xmas. Farewell Maura and may you Rest in Peace. Gone but not forgotten."

While a third stated, "Deepest sympathy to the Maura's family on her passing. A lovely lady. Great memories of her tending to the horses, ponies and donkeys at Josies farm. May her gentle soul Rest in Peace."

Ms Verling reposed at Kennedy’s Funeral Home in Ennis on Tuesday, December 9. She arrived at Ennis Cathedral on Wednesday for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial took place afterwards in Drumcliffe Cemetery.

No flowers were requested but instead, donations, if desired, to Dogs Trust Ireland or The Donkey Sanctuary Ireland were encouraged. 

May she Rest in Peace.
