Tributes have come pouring in following the untimely death of Ennis man John Culliney.
Formally of Rath, the well-known music lover passed away peacefully at Milford Care Centre, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 5.
Predeceased by his beloved son Tóla, John will be sadly missed by Tina, his sons Damien and Robert, daughter-in-law Ali, adored grandchildren Kealan, Riah, Mila, Riaín and Aryanna, brothers Pat, Martin and Michael, sister Mary, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Many friends, neighbours and acquaintances took to RIP.ie to express their condolences.
One person said, "Deepest condolences to all of John’s loved ones and his many many friends and musical comrades.Thank you John for always being so wonderfully gentle, kind and passionate about your music. A really beautiful man with an equally wonderful soul. Rest in peace my friend."
While another commented, "So so sorry to hear of John’s passing. You will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of your company John. A gentle soul who loved the tunes, always had time for a chat and even through illness and heartache you still gave us your infectious smile and lived life to its fullest. My sincere sympathy to all of John’s family, extended family and friends at this very sad time. May you rest in peace."
A third stated, "Every now and again you meet a special person and you see gentleness, kindness, positivity and someone who sees only the good in people…. That was John. He was such a caring and genuine soul. He absolutely loved playing tunes and talking about music. So sad that you have left the session John but keep me a seat at the session in the sky…. Rest in peace John."
Mr Culliney reposed at Kennedy’s Funeral Home in Ennis on Thursday, October 9. He will arrive to Ennis Cathedral the following day for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial will be afterwards, in Rath Cemetery.
