Solicitor Tara Godfrey, representing the accused, said she had no explanation for her client’s failure to appear in court.
Judge Alec Gabbett joked that Ms Keenan was absent because she was "taking down the tree".
On a more serious note, he expressed his frustration at the absence of the accused and he refused an application for an adjournment. "I come when it suits’ doesn’t suit me,” he stated.
He subsequently issued a bench warrant for Ms Keenan’s arrest.
