Gardaí are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this
Gardaí in Ennis are seeking witnesses following a second incident of deception recently in the town.
On Saturday, October 4, three men in a white van approached the injured party, who was parked on the Quin Road. According to Gardaí, he was asked by these suspects if he wanted to purchase generators and tools. This occurred at approximately 4pm.
Under duress, the man, who is aged in his 70s, purchased the items. He then later reported the matter to Ennis Garda Station, with a spokesperson saying, "This is a criminal offence."

This news comes just weeks after Gardaí in Ennis also confirmed they were investigating a deception incident, which took place on September 23.
In this instance, the injured party was in a parked vehicle in the Aldi car park on Francis Street, waiting for a family member that was shopping.
According to Gardaí, a large dark van pulled up beside this car and asked them to buy a box set of knives. It is said that the driver of this van was "very insistent." The injured party was then coerced into giving him money for these knives. The suspect was described as being well-built and aged in his 40’s.
Gardaí are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed three males in a white van on the Quin Road or in the Ennis town area on Saturday evening at this time. If you were and have footage or if you were approached to buy tools on Saturday evening, please contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 684 8100.
