Gardai at Ennis station are investigating both incidents
Witnesses are being sought following separate assault incidents in Ennis, one of which resulted in a teenage boy being hospitalised.
In an appeal for information, gardaí say an 18-year-old boy was taken to University Hospital Limerick after he was assaulted at New Road, Ennis at around 10.30pm last Friday.
"This young man was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel and brought to University Hospital Limerick with non-
life threatening injuries," said Sergeant Catriona Holohan who added that the suspect is male and was part of a larger group.
"Following this assault, the suspect and the larger group left the scene on foot walking from New Road onto Newbridge Road and were last seen walking over Club Bridge in the direction of Ennis town," she added.
Gardaí in Ennis are appealing to anyone who may have been driving along New Road or Newbridge Road last Friday at around 10.30pm and who may have witnessed the incident or the large group walking towards town," to contact them.
"If you have any information or dash-cam footage in your vehicle and it was parked on New Road on Friday night between 10pm and 11pm, please contact Ennis garda station on 065 6848100 or the Garda Confidential Line on 18010 666 111," said Sgt Holohan.

Separately, Gardaí in Ennis are investigating an assault that occurred on Barrack Street in the town on Saturday afternoon, sometime between 12.45pm and 1pm.
"A male approached the injured party, a male in his 70s. The suspect then became agitated and punched him into the face," said Sgt Holohan who added that the suspect is described as a male in his 30s, short in height and of medium build.
"He fled the scene on foot in the direction of O’Connell Street and gardaí are appealing to anyone who was on O'Connell Street last Saturday, June 14 to come forward.
Gardai at Ennis are investigating both incidents.
