More than 100 tourism businesses from Clare and Limerick attended a Fáilte Ireland industry networking event at The Strand Hotel in Limerick this week.
The event aimed to strengthen collaboration between tourism operators in both counties, encouraging them to work together to attract more visitors, extend stays, and boost local spending.
Attendees took part in face-to-face networking sessions, providing opportunities to forge new connections and renew existing ones.

Now in its third year, this marks the first time the Clare–Limerick collaboration event was hosted in Limerick, with support from Limerick City and County Council.
Fáilte Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way Manager, Margaret Jenkins, shared updates on upcoming local initiatives and outlined the benefits of joint promotion in attracting visitors to the region.
Guest speaker Roz Purcell offered practical insights into how local businesses can use content and storytelling to promote sustainable tourism, increase social media engagement, and showcase authentic travel experiences that set destinations apart.
Speaking at the event, Margaret Jenkins, Manager Wild Atlantic Way with Fáilte Ireland, said: “We were pleased to see so many tourism businesses from Clare and Limerick taking time out of their busy schedule to attend our networking event here at The Strand Hotel."
She continued: "Both counties are well-established and popular destinations, offering rich experiences for domestic and international visitors alike. By combining the advantages of Clare and Limerick into a unified offering, travellers can enjoy a greater variety of accommodation, attractions, and activities to fit every taste and budget, encouraging them to explore further, stay longer, and spend more.”
The event highlighted the shared commitment of Clare and Limerick tourism businesses to work together in creating a stronger, more attractive destination for visitors to the region.
