LATEST: Everything you need to know ahead of the Oasis gigs in Dublin this weekend

The Gallagher brothers will reunite to play Ireland's biggest venue over two nights this weekend

The-highly anticipated Oasis global tour will finally touch down in Ireland this weekend in what is a fitting end to a huge summer schedule of concerts in the Irish capital.

It will be the first Irish gigs for the Manchester band on Irish soil in 16 years - they last played in Slane castle shortly before their infamous split in 2009.

The brothers have always had a strong connection with the Emerald Isle with their parents coming from Meath and Mayo where they spent time during their childhoods. They are now set to grace Ireland's biggest venue in what are the most eagerly awaited music events in recent memory.

Where and when are the gigs?

The concerts are taking place on Saturday, August 16 and Sunday, August 17 in Croke Park, Dublin.

What are the best transport options?

Organisers are encouraging concert-goers to walk or cycle or to use public transport and private buses if possible. Traffic and parking delays are inevitable for those driving so sufficient time should be given in order to get to the gig without missing any of the action and getting home without further stoppages.

Dublin Bus: The Dublin bus routes which will serve Croke Park are as follows: 1, 7, 13, 14, 16, 19, 27a, 29a, 31a, 31b, 32, 33, 40, 40b, 40d, 41, 41b, 41c, 42, 43, 44, 53, 122 and 133.

In a partnership with the concert promoters, Expressway will be offering return coach services for both dates from Limerick, Cork and Galway to Croke Park.

Luas: Extra services will be provided for both the red and green lines for each night with several stops located within a 20-minute walk of the stadium (Connolly, Parnell and Marlborough) - click here for more details.

Train: Drumcondra and Clonliffe Road train stations will allow concert-goers to arrive just a 5-minute walk away from the venue. The closest Dart stop is Connolly station, a 15-minute walk from the venue.

Car: People driving are advised to park in the city centre if possible as Croke Park does not offer any parking options and the surrounding areas of the stadium largely consist of private parking for residents of the area.

Bus Éireann: All services are operating as usual ahead of the gigs and timetables can be checked through their website.

Irish Rail has confirmed that concert-goers travelling from Galway have the option of an extra, late night, train home on the Saturday night. It will leave at Heuston Station at 12:30am and expected to reach Galway's Ceannt train station at 2:45am on Sunday.

Are tickets still available?

Unfortunately, tickets sold out instantly on the days they went on sale in a chaotic fashion which sparked huge discussion around dynamic pricing and the protocols around purchasing concert tickets as a whole.

Resale tickets have come available sporadically but potential buyers will have to pay a huge sum to secure them.

How should tickets be presented?

Those who were lucky enough to secure tickets have been advised to download their tickets on the Ticketmaster app rather than relying on screenshots of the barcodes which are live and updated regularly so may not work. Gardai are warning people looking to buy last-minute tickets to be vigilant of fraudsters.

How to get into the stadium?

Each ticket to the concert will be valid for one of the four entrances and that will be the only way to access the stadium. Entry will be denied for very entrance besides the one on the ticket. The four access routes are as follows:

Green route: Enter via Forster Terrace (standing).

Yellow route: Enter via St. Margaret's avenue (Davin stand seating).

Red route: Enter via St. James avenue off Cloniffe Road (Cusack Stand seating, Premium seating).

Blue Route: Enter via Jones Road, Russell street (Hogan Stand seating, Premium seating).

Who are the support acts?

Richard Ashcroft will serve as the main support act. The former Verve frontman will provide fans with an experience of the hugely popular British music scene from the 1990s to whet the appetite for the main event. Liverpool indie band the Cast will also be in support.

What time do the gigs start?

Gates open at 5pm in Croke Park with the support acts set to start at 6pm, Oasis are expected to start around 8:15pm and usually play until 10:30 based on their UK gigs. Attendees should give themselves plenty of time to arrive with massive crowds expected, they should aim to leave at least 45 minutes in doing so.

What are the security measures?

Strict security checks will be carried out for the gigs and every entrant can expect to be searched.

There will be no camping/collapsible chairs permitted due to health and safety regulations. The full list of prohibited items can be seen on promotor MCD's website.

People are being advised by organisers not to bring backpacks or large bags as there is no storage facilities on site and they may cause delays or ultimately be refused entry.

There will be no readmission to the concert if attendees leave. All under-16s must be accompanied by an adult over the age at all times.

What will the setlist be?

Oasis will play as assortment of their greatest hits for the eagerly anticipated Dublin gig. Their most recent setlist from their Murrayfield Stadium concert in Edinburgh last weekend August should give a strong indication to the songs which will be played. The setlist is as follows:

1. Hello

2. Acquiesce

4. Some Might Say

5. Bring It On Down

6. Cigarettes & Alcohol

What will the weather forecast be like?

The weather for both Friday and Saturday will be very similar. The evenings will be sunny with partial clouds and should remain dry with temperatures ranging between 17 and 21 degrees over the duration of the gigs.

The duo of gigs which has been sixteen years in the making are sure to exceed expectations of Oasis and music fans alike as part of the one of the most anticipated set of concerts to visit Dublin in recent memory.
