CLARE singer-songwriter Oscar Blue has released a new single - one about anxiety and overthinking.
The Ogonnelloe native kicked off the new year with the release of 'What If This Is All Okay?', a song which encapsulates the negative thinking patterns that go along with anxiety.
The release comes as Oscar is about to play his first gig of the year, at London’s historic St Pancras Old Church on March 7.
Speaking of the new release, he recalled: "I was at a house party a while back and a met this young fella who reminded me a lot of myself in my late teens; he was chronically overthinking his future and was full of “what ifs?”. I wanted to write a song inspired by the uncertainty of the “what ifs” and put a more hopeful spin on that pattern of thinking."
He continued: "As anxious human beings, it is our instinct to envisage the worst-case scenario, to protect ourselves. But with this song it’s what it says on the tin – I want the listener to stop and think - what if this is all okay?"
Written by Oscar Blue, ‘What If This Is All Okay?’ was produced by Geoff Warner-Clayton, mixed by Ruadhrí Cushnan and mastered by Simon Francis.
