Met Éireann is urging caution over the coming hours after it issued a status yellow thunderstorm warning for Clare and Limerick.
The warning, issued just before 3pm this Tuesday, took immediate effect and will remain valid until 7pm.
The forecaster says there will be "Scattered thunderstorms at times" and that potential impacts include "frequent lightning and spot flooding".
There have been reports of heavy downpours in a number of locations in Clare as the weather system makes its way across the county.

It will remain sunny and warm in most areas - in between any thundery downpours.
Motorists are being urged to exercise caution and to slow down if travelling during any heavy downpours.
