Man arrested after army squad called to a residence over 'suspect device'

Gardaí were alerted following the discovery of a suspect device at a residence in Wexford town at approximately 7pm, Friday April 11.

A cordon was established and the Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended the scene.

The EOD team examined the suspect device and subsequently made it safe and the cordon was lifted.

A man, aged in his 30s, was arrested at the scene and detained at a Garda Station in Co Wexford under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.

He has since been charged.
