Gardaí have arrested a woman in her 60’s following a seizure by Revenue of cannabis estimated at €480,000 at Shannon Airport.
Revenue officers seized 23 kgs of herbal cannabis and 3.3 kgs of cannabis resin at Shannon Airport on Sunday, April 7.
The illicit drugs were discovered within the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight from Faro, Portugal.
A woman in her 60s was subsequently arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a Garda Station in County Clare.
