Man punched in the face in his Clare home during burglary

BURGLARIES are being investigated throughout Clare, with one turning violent at a private property.

The assault of a house owner in Kinlea, Knockalough, Kilmihil happened at 3:45am on Wednesday, August 30, with a small sum of money and a Husqavarna chainsaw being stolen.

The male house owner was woken to a car entering his driveway and received a punch in the face when the intruder entered. Two other males were in the yard of the homeowner. 

The three males then left in a white van upon taking money from the owners waller and the chainsaw from the owners shed. 

A garda investigation has been launched.
