Clare-based artists wanted for Artists Mentorship Scheme

Clare Arts Office is seeking applications from artists who work across all artforms

CLARE based artists are being reminded the deadline for applications under the Artists Mentorship Scheme is fast approaching.

Clare Arts Office is seeking applications from artists in the early stages of their career who have an interest in learning the professional skills necessary for developing and delivering projects within Arts and Education and/or Disability settings in County Clare.

The local authority is seeking applications from artists who work across all artforms including architecture, circus, dance, literature, film, music, opera, theatre, visual arts, traditional arts and animation.

Artists who are selected will learn through practice, by shadowing an experienced professional mentor on a residency project in a school or a disability organisation. They will also engage with the mentor to learn skills such as project-proposal development, project management, facilitation skills and how to monitor, evaluate and document project work.

Mentees accepted onto the scheme will receive a fee of €600 which will be paid by the Clare Arts Office.

Artists who successfully complete the mentoring programme and who upon review demonstrate the capacity to deliver a project will be offered a residency award as part of Clare Arts Office's 2024/2025 programme.

The deadline for applications is 5pm this Friday, September 1.
