Emma Langford on stage
A CHURCH concert with a twist is happening soon in a local Clare town.
Led by local café/vinyl shop, The Record Break, a one of a kind concert will take place in St Columba's Church, Ennis on Saturday, September 30 at 7pm.
There will be performances from local duet The Davies Brothers as well as Emma Langford and band, Claire Watts and Senan M, with the twist being that the concert will be recorded live by Malbay Studios.
Thereafter, the concert will be pressed on to a vinyl record and available for purchase in Ennis café The Record Break.
Owner of the one of a kind café Sinéad Nic Síoda said: “There was nowhere in Ennis where you could buy vinyl at that time and so I mixed the retro record store with the new fancy coffee craze.
“A record shop cafe was not only unique to Ennis, it was novel and original and offered the choice of collecting music.”
The Record Break incorporated live music events, performance poetry, book launches and art exhibitions over the years. Sinéad, in actuality, has organised over 185 events thus far.
Most recently she is running a five act music event, taking place at St. Columba's Church, on the Georgian built Bindon Street, Ennis.
The upcoming September 30 concert will have the capacity for 140 seats, meaning tickets are strictly limited.
