Gardai to the rescue as cat sanctuary in Clare village runs low on supplies amid snowfall
Special delivery is made to An Cat Dubh Cat Sanctuary near Connolly
Two gardai are being praised for their efforts to ensure a cat shelter in a remote part of County Clare did not run out of food and essential supplies during the current cold weather.
In a post on social media, gardai say Garda Yvonne Brady and Garda Michael Haugh from Ennistymon garda station were contacted earlier this week about an elderly lady living outside Connolly who runs the An Cat Dubh Cat Sanctuary.
"The sanctuary cares for over 160 cats and because of the weather and very poor road conditions she has been quickly running out of supplies," read the post on Instagram.
Gardai say they were more than happy to be able to help by dropping in some litter and cat food as well as some bits for the lady who runs the cat sanctuary.
"If you or anyone you know needs help or support please call us," said a spokesperson.
