Tributes have come pouring in following the unexpected death of Anne McCaw (née Killeen), a native of Cullinagh, Ennistymon.
The mother-of-two passed away at home on Monday, September 8.
Mrs McCaw will be deeply missed by her heartbroken family, including husband Christy, daughter Bláthnaid, son Criostóir, partners Aiden and Gemma, grandchildren Tierna and Ógie, brothers Tony and Michael, sisters Mary, Kate and Eileen, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Many locals who knew Anne took to RIP.ie to express their condolences.
One person said, "Our heartfelt sympathy to Christy, Bláthnaid, Criostóir, partners, grandchildren and extended McCaw family, also to Tony and all the Killeen family, on the devastating loss of your beloved Anne. You are all in our thoughts and prayers during these very sad and difficult days. May you find comfort and consolation in many happy memories. "Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and so very dear". Rest in peace, Anne, you will be so missed."

A second commented, "We extend our deepest sympathies on the loss of Anne. She was a wonderful person who was sympathetic, warm and generous. It was always a pleasure to see her smiling face. She loved Christy, her children, grandchildren and family profoundly. She will be deeply missed and mourned. Wishing her family and friends the strength to deal with her absence. May Anne Rest in Peace."
While a third stated, "We were heartbroken to learn of Anne’s passing. She was a gentle soul whose company we always enjoyed when we visited. We are thinking of you all and sending love and healing thoughts. May she Rest in Peace."
Also paying tribute was Ennistymon GAA, a community that Anne was heavily involved with.
In a statement on social media, a spokesperson said, "It was with great sadness that we learned of the untimely passing of Anne McCaw. A warm hearted, smiling presence in the community, Anne was a great supporter of our teams and gave many hours organising our fashion show fundraisers for several years. We send our deepest sympathies to Anne's family, Christy, Bláthnaid, Criostóir, beloved grandchildren and extended McCaw and Killeen families. Christy, has coached our youngest players for decades. Cristóir too was instrumental in our U21 Championship wins in recent years. May Anne Rest in Peace and God comfort her loving family."
Mrs McCaw reposed at St Colomuba's Church in Clouna on Thursday, September 11. Her Funeral Mass took place on Friday, September 12 at 11am with burial afterwards in the New Cemetry, Ennistymon.
