Clare gardai seek to identify suspect who 'coerced' occupant of parked car to buy knives

The incident took place in the Aldi car park on Francis Street in Ennis

Gardaí in Ennis are investigating an incident of deception after a person was "coerced" into giving away their money last week.

Taking place in the Aldi car park on Francis Street, the injured party was in a parked vehicle, waiting for a family member that was shopping.

According to Gardaí, a large dark van pulled up beside this car and asked them to buy a box set of knives. It is said that the driver of this van was "very insistent." The injured party was then coerced into giving him money for these knives. The suspect is described as being well-built and aged in his 40’s.
