A motorist who was allegedly observed watching a movie while driving in Ennis won't be getting the happy ending they were hoping for.

That's according to gardai who have highlighted a detection which was made by members of the Clare Roads Policing Unit on St Stephen's Night.

"This driving performance wasn't going to win an Oscar, it might have been the fact that the driver was watching a film while driving when he was spotted," read a post on social media.

"It turned out the driver didn't have a driving licence or insurance either. The car was seized and the driver now gets to walk the red carpet into court," they added.
