The chief executives of Shannon and Ennis Chambers of Commerce, Helen Downes and Margaret O’Brien have welcomed the appointment of Gordon Daly as the new chief executive of Clare County Council
The appointment of the Tumegraney native was formally approved by elected members before Easter and he will take up the role in the coming weeks.
Wishing Mr Daly every success as head of the local authority, both Chamber leaders said they look forward to working closely with him and engaging with him on key priorities that support economic development and job creation across Clare.
“We are committed to continuing the strong and constructive relationship we’ve built with the Council’s executive team. This collaborative approach has been central to many positive developments in Clare, and we look forward to maintaining this momentum," they said.

“The businesses we represent are multi-sectorial and contribute significantly through commercial rates. It is vital that this investment is reflected in the continued growth, infrastructure, and prosperity of Clare. By working in partnership, we can ensure that Clare remains a vibrant and thriving place to live, work, and do business.
"We are confident that under the new chief executive’s leadership, Clare County Council will continue to enhance the county’s business infrastructure. We look forward to engaging regularly and constructively in the months and years ahead,” added Ms Downes and Ms O'Brien.
