Clare volunteers to takepart in Teddy Trek 2024 for Little Blue Heroes Foundation

The event is being run by Clare and Tipperary Volunteers with Little Blue Heroes Foundation
Gardaí from the Clare/Tipperary Division are excited to announce a fundraising event in aid of Little Blue Heroes in
September 2024.
At the end of September, Gardaí from Clare, Tipperary and further afield will help transport “Teddy” from Co Tipperary to Co Clare, as they run and cycle with Teddy on their journey over three days.
Teddy Picnics will be held in towns along the route.
"We hope that children will join us for with their own teddies to meet our “Teddy” and local Gardaí," a statement from the Clare-Tipperary Division read.
All the runners and cyclists will be fundraising before and during the event to raise funds for the Little Blue Heroes
Foundation.
Little Blue Heroes Foundation’s vision is to support families of children with serious illnesses in Ireland while empowering the lives of children through positive community engagement.
Their mission is to provide practical and financial support to families of children who have serious illnesses in Ireland while granting the wish of the children it supports to become Honorary Gardaí to empower the child and foster positive engagement with An Garda Síochána.
Garda Gemma Maguire, Community Engagement, Clonmel wanted to support and highlight the wonderful work of Little
Blue Heroes Organisation.
This idea has now been embraced by colleagues across both counties, and developed into an event which will help children across the country.
The aim of this event is to highlight and promote the charity and the extraordinary work it does, and also to fundraise to help the foundation to continue its amazing work.
It is hoped that the event will also allow local children in Clare and Tipperary to participate in fun activities to highlight the Little Blue Heroes cause.
The dates for Teddy Trek 2024 are Tuesday, September 24 to Thursday, September 26. The planned route begins with Teddy at Carrick-on-Suir and ends in Kilkee.
Teddy Trek 2024 will be launched this Monday, August 26 at 12.15pm in Killaloe (carpark beside Flanagan’s Pub V94 F974).
The location has been chosen as the connecting point between both counties.
Chief Superintendent Aileen Magner, Superintendent Alan Cullen and Superintendent John Ryan, Mayor of Clare Cllr Alan O'Callaghan and Mayor of Tipperary Cllr Declan Burgess will all be in attendence, along with local Killaloe Coast Guard Unit, members of the event organising committee and Little Blue Heroes Foundation, plus one or two more surprise guests on the day also!
