Last November signalled the departure of Stephen Kenny from the Republic of Ireland managerial role. Since then, the FAI have been in the process of appointing a new name for the men's national team.

Ireland's next international break arrives in March when the Boys in Green host Belgium (March 23) and Switzerland (March 26) at Dublin's Aviva Stadium. Before that, the UEFA Nations League draw will take place in Paris on February 8.

According to reports, the FAI are due to hold a board meeting on January 30 - which could be key in the recruitment process.

Former Celtic boss Neil Lennon (2/1) is currently at the summit of the bookmaker's list of candidates while under-21 England manager Lee Carsley (10/3) remains near the top also.

It remains to be seen who the FAI will appoint but the picture should be clearer in the coming weeks.
