Six Goal Mile events planned for Clare over Christmas and New Year period

People across County Clare are being reminded there is still time to register and take part in the annual GOAL Mile event over the festive season.

For many people, the GOAL Mile is a favourite festive tradition and raises vital funds for the organisation's life-saving humanitarian work across 15 countries in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Ukraine. 

Everyone is encouraged to get involved this year, whether you want to walk, run or just show up and lend your support for the cause.

Thousands of euro was raised for GOAL by those who participated in GOAL Mile events in Clare last Christmas.

The charity, has revealed its flagship fundraiser raised a total of €750,000 over the festive period with €6,274 coming from GOAL Milers who attended events in Clare.

There will be over 160 GOAL Mile events taking place across the country over the festive period, including six at locations across County Clare (see below). 

Cratloe Wood Forest Park, Brickhill East - Christmas Day: 10am-11:30am

Tim Smythe Park, Ennis - Christmas Day: 10am-11:30am

Clonlara GAA Club - Christmas Day: 9am-10am

Shannon AC Athletics Ground, Tullyvarraga - St Stephen's Day: 11am-12pm

Kilmaley National School Track - St Stephen's Day: 11:30am

Lahinch Beach, Lahinch, New Year's Day: 10am-12pm

Whether walking, strolling, jogging, or running, everyone is invited to participate in the GOAL Mile with family, friends, or their wider community.
Registration is open at GOALmile.org. Participants and supporters can also donate directly to GOAL through the AIB app.
 
As a proud sponsor of the AIB GAA Club Championships, Camogie Club Championships, and All-Ireland Ladies’ Football Club Championship, AIB is also calling on GAA clubs in Clare and across the country to host their own GOAL Mile events, further cementing the tradition of community support and togetherness within our Gaelic Games communities.
 
The 2025 GOAL Mile will once again feature the return of the AIB GAA GOAL Mile competition. Participants who register for the GOAL Mile can nominate their GAA club for a chance to win one of three top prizes: €7,000, €2,000, or €1,000 for their club.
