Concert to be held in Ennis this weekend as part of Discover Ukraine Festival

The family-friendly event is free and will run until 4pm

The third annual Discover Ukraine Festival is well underway in Clare, with events being held in many towns and villages until late next week. 

As part of this, the highly-anticipated 'Sound of Independent Hearts' concert will take place on Sunday, August 17 at 2:30pm. 

Join attendees for an unforgettable evening celebrating Ukrainian music and culture, featuring performances by renowned Ukrainian professional musicians coming from Dublin to the Holy Family School in Ennis for one night only. 

The concert will showcase a diverse repertoire, including world and Ukrainian classical music, opera, and folk melodies.

The incredible performers include:

  •  Emerald Classical Guitar Duo: Victoria Zhadko — Ukraine’s first female professional conductor and a laureate of numerous international competitions, known for her vibrant interpretations and active promotion of contemporary Ukrainian music. Anna Kardakova is a talented guitarist and accomplished performer, collaborating with leading orchestras across Europe.
  • Olha Doroshchuk: A mezzo-soprano with a commanding stage presence, she has performed at prestigious opera festivals and collaborations, captivating audiences with her expressive voice.
  • Milana Rouslana: A soprano and winner of the 'New Names of Ukraine' and 'Golden Voices' Grand Prix, she has performed on the world’s leading opera stages and brings a wealth of international experience.
  • Olena Topolska: A distinguished flutist and conductor, she has toured extensively across Europe, America, and China, actively participating in concerts and festivals in Ireland.
  • Alla Goncharova: An experienced concertmaster and pianist with over 40 years of international performance, she has collaborated with vocalists, choirs and instrumentalists across a wide repertoire.

After the concert, don’t miss the chance to meet the musicians for coffee, where you can chat with them about music, love and Ukraine.

The family-friendly event is free and will run until 4pm.
