New data reveals Clare is among Ireland's most popular filming locations

As more directors look for unique and beautiful places to shoot, Ireland’s popularity as a filming location will only continue to grow

Clare has become a favourite among filmmakers thanks to its stunning landscapes and unique charm which makes it the perfect spot for filming movies and television shows! 

Virgin Media Ireland, Ireland’s leading telecommunications and entertainment provider, conducted research analysing over 250 top movies and TV shows filmed in Ireland using IMDb data to reveal the most popular filming locations. 

The top five filming hotspots were Dublin, Wicklow, Cork, Galway, and Donegal.

Clare ranks eighth, proving it's not only a prime filming location but also a rising hub for talent like Aisling O’Loughlin and James Bredin. The county's beautiful scenery has appeared in many blockbuster movies, such as Rialto, PursuitSea Fever and more-recently the Netflix rom-com Irish Wish. 

A number of popular television series, including Hidden Assets and Smother have also been filmed on location in County Clare.

From lively cities to stunning natural landscapes, Ireland is the picture-perfect place for filming. As more directors look for unique and beautiful places to shoot, Ireland’s popularity as a filming location will only continue to grow. With its rich history and amazing scenery, it will remain a go-to spot for movies and TV for years to come.
