Wet weekend forecast, despite unusual prediction
More rain on the way this weekend
Met Éireann has forecast more rain to sweep across the country this weekend.
Despite the wet conditions, an unusual mild temperature is expected, with highs of 14 degrees.
Heavy showers are likely on the way in most parts of the country throughout Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
Saturday, February 17
Rain will develop in the west early this morning and spread eastwards to all areas by noon, turning heavy at times. It will continue through the afternoon. Drier weather will follow through the evening, along with isolated showers. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees with moderate to fresh southerly winds.
Sunday, February 18
Showers in parts to begin, but a drier day overall with scattered showers becoming isolated. After a cloudy start, spells of sunshine will gradually develop. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in light to moderate westerly winds.
