Met Éireann's latest weather forecast shows more heavy rain is on the way

Up to 20mm of rainfall likely in some areas
Forecasters at Met Éireann are advising people to keep their umbrellas close for the next few days as more 'heavy and persistent' rain is on the way to many areas.
While the sun shone for most parades on St Patrick's Day, several parts of the country experienced localised flooding on Monday due to rainfall.
In its latest forecast, Met Éireann said it will be dry with sunny spells at first this Monday but that change can be expected as the day progresses.
"Turning cloudier from the south this afternoon with more frequent showers developing towards evening, some of which will turn heavy. More persistent rain will develop in the south later," states the forecast which adds that highest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees can be expected.
According to Met Éireann it will be wet overnight "with widespread and occasionally heavy showers at first '' while well-known weatherman Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather says up to 20mm of rainfall is likely in some areas.
The current spell of wet weather is set to continue in most places on Tuesday as rain and drizzle spreads northwards across much of the country.
According to Met Éireann the rain will clear into the Irish Sea by Wednesday afternoon when it will turn dry with spells of sunshine across the country.
