Met Éireann warns of deterioration in drying conditions due to 'below average' sunshine

Forecaster says weather will be 'changeable and unsettled' this week
Farmers across the country are being warned of a deterioration in drying conditions over the coming days as the weather is set to remain 'changeable and unsettled'.
In its latest farming forecast, Met Éireann says this week will see some rain or showers at times along with sunny spells. This, it says, will result in sunshine levels being "a little below average".
A potato blight advisory is also in effect and there is a very high risk of the disease being present in several parts of the country between now and Wednesday.
In general, it will be cloudy this Monday with scattered outbreaks of showery rain moving northwards, turning persistent and heavy at times across southern and eastern counties.
Temperatures of between of 15 to 21 degrees can be expected and while it will be dry this Monday evening conditions there is a chance of some mist. It will be mild and humid tonight with lows of 12 to 14 degrees in just light westerly breezes.
Tuesday will be a warm day with a mix of cloud and sunshine. However, there will be scattered shower with highs of 18 to 22 degrees.
