Ireland weather 18C sun blast confirmed for weekend but there's a catch

Forecasters say temperatures could soar this weekend in a much-needed upturn in our weather fortunes
Ireland will enjoy some sun this weekend but it's not all good news from forecasters.
Cathal Nolan from Ireland's Weather Channel, said: "High pressure takes control of our weather this weekend, building in across the country and settling conditions down even further. While there will be some cloud about in some areas, there will also be some pleasant spells of warm sunshine.
"Temperatures will also respond, and where we see more prolonged spells of sunshine there is a chance that temperatures could reach up to 18 degrees Celsius.
"But wherever we do see that sunshine, we will see temperatures in the high teens.
"Into next week, at the moment it looks like high pressure remains in control, albeit it may turn cloudier once again, with only some sunny breaks here or there.
"At this time of year, high pressure, though settler, can bring rather cloudy weather," he concluded.
