NATIONAL OUTLOOK

Mainly dry and clear tonight with some mist and fog patches forming in slack conditions. A chilly night with lowest temperatures of three to seven degrees.

After a mostly dry start tomorrow with sunny spells, cloud will increase from the Atlantic with rain developing in the west by afternoon. Rain will spread to all but the south and southeast through the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in a freshening southerly wind, with winds becoming strong along Atlantic coasts.

The rain will spread southeastwards tomorrow night, clearing to scattered showers and the winds will veer to the west and moderate. Lows of 11 to 13 degrees. Rain may not clear the southeast before dawn.

Any lingering rain in the southeast early Thursday will clear for a bright day with sunny spells and a few showers, mostly affecting the northwest of the country. Temperatures on Thursday will be between 15 and 18 degrees with light to moderate west to northwest winds, fresher near northern and northwestern coasts.

Friday looks to be largely dry with sunny spells developing after mist and fog clears. However there is some uncertainty and it is possible that it will be cloudy in the south and east with rain. Highest temperatures around the mid teens.

Currently next weekend looks dry for many, but eastern and southern parts may see some breezy wet weather at times.
