ALERT: Met Éireann issues high temperature warning for Clare amid 27 degree heat blast
MET Éireann is warning of uncomfortable conditions over the next 72 hours due to expected high temperatures in Clare and across the country.
After a very wet and unsettled July and August, the country has been experiencing fine and largely settled conditions since the beginning of September.
The national forecaster has issued a high temperature warning with daytime temperatures in excess of 27 degrees expected in many areas this Thursday and Friday. Nighttime temperatures will not fall below 15 degrees.
The status yellow warning will remain in place from 8am on Thursday until 8am on Saturday.
Meteorologist with Met Éireann Emer Flood explained: “High pressure looks set to dominate our weather for the rest of the week bringing generally fine and settled conditions. Daytime temperatures will reach into the early twenties for much of the country, with parts of the south midlands reaching 25°C or above."
She added: "These warm daytime temperatures will be coupled with nighttime temperatures not dropping any lower than the early teens leading to some uncomfortable sleeping conditions in the coming days.”
