TWO ‘EXCITING’ events, which unite art and storytelling, are due to take place in one Clare town.

On Wednesday, August 12, Ennis will host both events as part of Marie Connole's Dúlamán na Farraige art exhibition in the Clare Museum.

The first event is free and will see a poster launch and the official opening of the art exhibition, while the second is a storytelling event led by master Seanchaí/Storyteller Eddie Lenihan.

The poster in question for the first event is entitled 'Seaweeds of Clare'. It was created by Marie Connole and was specially commissioned by Creative Ireland to highlight biodiversity, while also identifying different types of seaweed from the Clare coast.

The poster and opening are starting at 11am in the Clare Museum. All are welcome to join us for refreshments and a short talk by the artist, Marie.

At 12pm, Eddie Lenihan will deliver a storytelling event in an intimate setting within the Temple Gate Hotel, directly across from the Clare Museum.

Eddie will recount intriguing tales and stories associated with the sea, seaweed and sea creatures from the west coast of Ireland. Tickets can be purchased here.

This second event is suitable for ages of 10 years and older. This exhibition has been kindly supported by Clare Arts Office, Clare Local Area Grant Scheme and the poster commissioned by Creative Ireland.
