Ennis native Paul Madden has succeeded Peter Keane as the new manager of the Clare senior football team.
This news comes just days after it was announced that Mr Keane would be stepping town from his role as manager after one season, citing growing business demands, travel and time challenges as the causes.
Now, former Éire Óg manager Paul Madden has been appointed the position on a three-year term.

Speaking on the announcement, Mr Madden said, "It is often said what an honour it is to manage an Inter County Team, never more so when it is your own county. There will be many challenges ahead, however, there is no doubt that through hard work, a positive attitude and above all a fantastic group of footballers in Clare we will meet the challenge head on."
Clare GAA said they are "delighted" at the news, saying, "Paul is a wonderful ambassador for Clare Football and has brought sustained success to his club Éire Óg at senior level. We look forward now to supporting him in the role and in driving Clare football forward."
