Tuamgraney and the wider East Clare region are renowned for traditional Irish music, and unsurprisingly the area is home to several highly acclaimed musicians.
The Tuangraney Harp Festival will open on the evening of April 5th, and the following two days will be filled with workshops, question and answer sessions, a competition, and of course a concert and a recital.
The goal is to revitalise enthusiasm for the harp, a symbol of Irish national identity and an essential part of our cultural heritage for centuries.
There will be beginners, intermediate and advanced harp workshops, along with workshops for fiddle and concertina.
Family discounts for workshops are available.
For tickets and more information see tuamgraneyharpfestival.ie/workshops-2024.
The festival also hosts a gala concert and has welcomed internationally acclaimed harpists and traditional musicians as performers.
This concert is open to all workshop participants and to members of the local community widening the appeal of the harp as a traditional instrument.
The Tuamgraney Harp Festival takes place from April 5-7, 2024.
