'Life can be very cruel' - Tributes paid to Clare woman following her passing

Geraldine Kelly of Slievenagry, Kilshanny, Co. Clare passed unexpectedly at home on January 1, 2025

Tributes have been pouring in for Geraldine Kelly following her unexpected passing at home on New Years Day.

Friends and former colleagues of Geraldine remember her as "a lovely person and a great colleague".

In messages left on Geraldine's rip.ie page, a neighbour said: "She was a lovely neighbour/friend/ colleague. May she rest in peace."

A former colleague wrote: "She was a lovely person and a great colleague. May she rest in peace."

Another person said: "Geraldine was a wonderful and kind person. It was a privilege to know her."

Another former colleague wrote: "I had the privilege and pleasure of working with Geraldine in Sarsfield house in the 1980s. In October we had a 40th year reunion, and we shared many happy memories of our days together. Geraldine was a lady, a consciousness worker and enjoy the banter at work."

Another former colleague said: "I worked with Geraldine in Revenue in Limerick. She was a great worker, always had a smile & time for a chat. Such a lovely lady she will be sadly missed."

Geraldine Kelly is predeceased by her parents Tommy and Bridie Kelly. She is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sister Bridget (O'Brien), brother-in-law Des, niece Amy, nephew Colm, uncle Paddy Kelly and extended family and friends.

Geraldine's funeral took place at 11am, Tuesday January 7, 2025.
