New series of Home of the Year to feature incredible Clare property
Popular TV show returns to RTÉ this Tuesday night
An incredible contemporary property in Co. Clare will feature in the new series of Home of the Year which returns to RTÉ television this Tuesday night.
Since first appearing on screens in 2015, Home of the Year has celebrated the creativity and individuality of homeowners all over the country.
Clever design and inspiring interiors will be showcased during the tenth series as viewers take a peek inside 21 gorgeous homes located across the country.
Kicking off at 8.30pm this Tuesday, the first episode will feature three homes, including an incredible eco-minded self-build home owned by Clare couple John and Kasha.
In 2021 the couple started their journey of building their contemporary house, where they now live with their daughter.
Throughout the process, they were conscious of the environment when building their home and wanted a grass roof as a place for wildlife and bees to live.
Their home has a natural cooling breezeway designed for the summer months that brings the outside in, and, after working with the Jon Eliason Studio in Sweden to draft the concept of the living space and kitchen of their house, they decided on a 20-foot-high ceiling in the main room to allow the spectacular scenery to be a part of the space.
Viewers will see how John and Kasha love the sense of detail and functionality they've achieved throughout the home and how they've managed to create something so special that represents their family.
Looking for individuality, functionality, and clever design, the three judges will each score the homes out of 10, and the home with the highest combined score in each programme will go through to the final in April, when the overall winner will be crowned.
Making the difficult decisions are the returning judging panel of architect and founding partner of Douglas Wallace Consultants, Hugh Wallace, award-winning architect Amanda Bone and award-winning interior designer Sara Cosgrove.
