Power outages across Clare after Storm Gerritt batters county

ESB CREWS are working to restore power to areas around county Clare following Storm Gerritt on Wednesday night.

Much of the power outages have been restored after high wind and heavy rain swept through the county.

Hundreds of homes were without power this Thursday morning, but ESB have confirmed that they are working to restore power.

"Local outages are being dealt with by crews at a local level," they added.

According to the ESB Networks Powerchecks map, power has been restored to much of Clare, with some outages still on the west coast.

Met Éireann have issued a Status Yellow thunderstorm warning for Clare and Munster for Thursday, December 28, until 6am Friday, December 29.
