Planning permission sought for new holiday accommodation at major Clare vacation spot

Planning permission is being sought for new mobile homes, holiday pods and campervan spaces to a popular holiday park in Carrigaholt.

The application has been submitted by Amigos Holiday Park, to develop a new holiday park featuring a mix of accommodation options and camping facilities on a site near Carrigaholt, on the scenic Loop Head Peninsula in West Clare

The applicant has proposed the construction of 48 fully serviced mobile home spaces, seven fully serviced holiday pod spaces, ten campervan spaces as well as an area for camping facilities.

In addition, the application seeks to regularise unauthorised works on the site and install a new sewage treatment system, which would require the removal of ten existing mobile home spaces.

A submission or observation in relation to the application can be made in writing to the planning authority for a prescribed fee of €20. This must be within five weeks of the authority first receiving the planning application. 

Any submissions or observations on the proposed project must be submitted by November 17, with the final decision on the planning application taking place on December 8.
