Planning proposal submitted to demolish well known Clare hotel

A decision is due to be made by February 8, 2025 by Clare County Council

A seven year planning permission has been sought to demolish the former Shannon Shamrock hotel in Bunratty.

The planning application, which has just been lodged, seeks permission to demolish the former hotel and ancillary outbuildings to make way for the phased delivery of a mixed use development including a provision for 67 residential units and six retail commercial units at the site.

A proposal to build a residential bike shelter and a commercial bike shelter are also included in the planning application.

A decision is due to be made by February 8, 2025 by Clare County Council.
