Mayor Alan O'Callaghan, Garda Gemma Maguire, Superintendent Eddie Golden, Cathaoirleach Declan Burgess At the end of September, Gardaí from Clare, Tipperary and further afield will help transport “Teddy” from Carrick on Suir, Co Tipperary to Kilkee, Co Clare, as they run and cycle with Teddy on their journey over three days. Teddy Picnics will be held in towns along the route and we hope that children will join us for with their own teddies to meet our “Teddy” and local Gardaí. All the runners and cyclists will be fundraising before and during the event to raise funds for the Little Blue Heroes Foundation. Little Blue Heroes Foundation Little Blue Heroes Foundation’s vision is to support families of children with serious illnesses in Ireland while empowering the lives of children through positive community engagement. Their mission is to provide practical and financial support to families of children who have serious illnesses in Ireland while granting the wish of the children it supports to become Honorary Gardaí to empower the child and foster positive engagement with An Garda Síochána. Garda Gemma Maguire, Community Engagement, Clonmel, wanted to support and highlight the wonderful work of Little Blue Heroes Organisation. This idea has now been embraced by colleagues across both counties, and developed into an event which will help children across the country. The aim of this event is to highlight and promote the charity and the extraordinary work it does, and also to fundraise to help the foundation to continue its amazing work. It is hoped that the event will also allow local children in Clare and Tipperary to participate in fun activities to highlight the Little Blue Heroes cause. Event Dates and Route: The dates for Teddy Trek 2024 are Tuesday September 24 to Thursday September 26. The planned route is as follows: Day 1 - Carrick on Suir to Thurles,
