'Outstanding contributions' to Shannon communities honoured with Special Recognition Awards

An award ceremony celebrating the "outstanding contributions to communities" by people in Shannon was held earlier this month.
Shannon Municipal District was privileged to host a Special Recognition Award Ceremony on 9 May, 2024.

The event honoured and celebrated outstanding contributions to communities by people who demonstrated leadership, commitment, determination, and hard work at local level.
The recipients were:
• Joe Buckley, Damian O'Rourke – nominated by Cathaoirleach Donna McGettigan,
• Jimmy Begley, Margaret Grace – nominated by Cllr John Crowe,
• Lauren McElligott, Tom Golden – nominated by Cllr PJ Ryan,
• Siobhán O'Driscoll, Grainne Hayes – nominated by Cllr Pat McMahon,
• Noel Madden, Enda Griffin – nominated by Cllr Michael Begley,
• Mary Deegan/Cratloe Community Council, Susan Madigan – nominated by Cllr Pat O'Gorman.
