Gardai are being deployed to conduct checkpoints at strategic locations across County Clare in an effort to combat the illegal hunting of animals.

In a post on social media, they have confirmed that as part of Operation Lexi, members of An Garda Siochana from the Clare/Tipperary Division are working closely with personnel from the National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS).

"These checkpoints are aimed at combating illegal hunting of animals. By combining resources and expertise, we are committed to protecting our local environment and wildlife and ensuring the safety of our communities," said a spokesperson.

Any members of the public who see or who suspect that illegal hunting or other illegal activities are taking place are being asked to report such incidents to their your local garda station or the NPWS.
