Westlife's Nicky Byrne supports the launch
Amazon.ie has officially launched in Ireland on Tuesday March 18, with Irish brands featured on a 'Brand of Ireland' section.
There is now a wide selection of over 200 million products with prices in Euro without additional customs charges.
One-Day Delivery on millions of products will now be available as well, with Irish businesses like Barry’s Tea, Bewley’s, and Ella & Jo available on a dedicated ‘Brands of Ireland’ page.
Peter Burke TD, Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, said, “I welcome today’s news of the official launch of Amazon.ie. A dedicated Irish Store will enhance customer experiences in Ireland and provide a significant platform for Irish SMEs to expand their online presence and grow their business. Amazon.ie provides even more opportunities for Irish businesses to reach global markets and help create domestic jobs.
‘Brands of Ireland’ is part of a collaboration with Enterprise Ireland, and is being set up to help customers find their favourite Irish brands, and help local businesses to achieve greater scale and success.
Customers can also join Prime on Amazon.ie for just €6.99 per month– including fast, free delivery, exclusive deals and shopping events like Prime Day, award-winning TV shows, movies and live sport including the UEFA Champions League on Prime Video, free games on Prime Gaming, and exclusive offers with partners including Odeon cinemas and Deliveroo.

Those in Ireland who already have UK Prime memberships can easily switch, and will automatically have their UK Prime membership cancelled and refunded when they do so.
“Our teams across the country are unbelievably proud and incredibly excited to launch Amazon.ie,” said Alison Dunn, Ireland Country Manager at Amazon. “The store brings a wide selection of great value products with fast delivery to customers in Ireland, a local Prime membership with incredible benefits and savings, and lots of opportunities for Irish businesses to reach more customers. We have been building towards this moment since the launch of our Fulfilment Centre in Dublin in 2022, and we can’t wait to write the next chapter of our story in Ireland.”

Irish icons including Westlife’s Nicky Byrne, footballing legend Shay Given, and media personality Vogue Williams are amongst those celebrating the launch, with each making a series of Amazon.ie deliveries – including delivering signed records, books, and footballs for customers and fans alike.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin TD said, “this expansion by Amazon will give consumers more choice and better value, as well as help small, medium and large businesses across the country promote their own Irish and international products. By using Amazon, people know that they will get a well-trusted, great service. It’s good news for all.”
“The launch of Amazon.ie presents a significant opportunity for our business and others in Ireland,” said Helena Dingley from Ella & Jo. “It will help us reach new customers, strengthen our brand, and support our retail partners. Amazon’s infrastructure and expertise will help expand our presence in the domestic market, while also accelerating our international growth.”
