Clare County Council has announced proposals to install a number of new bus stops in Ennis
The proposals include the installation of nineteen new stops, at locations across the town, to improve accessibility and public transport connections.
The planned bus stops form part of the roll out of the new Ennis Town Bus Service which will provide two routes in a North- South (NS1) and a East-West direction (NS2).
The bus service will be every 30 minutes in both directions and run from early morning to midnight. The service will be
operated on behalf of Transport for Ireland.

Key locations proposed for the new bus stops include Cloughleigh Road, Ennis General Hospital, Lahinch Road – Shanballa, Francis Street, Lifford Road, College Green, and Tulla Road – Hillcrest.
Other proposed locations are:
* Fergus Lawn
* Gort Road Business Park
* Ballyallia
* The GAA–Tesco Francis Street area
* Tesco Lifford Road
* Carmody Street
* Shanaway Road – Lahinch Road
* Ballymaley
* Lahinch Road Terminus/Station Road
The public notice, under Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994, pertains to the installation of these new bus stops as well as the construction of associated site works at the various locations.
Plans and particulars of the proposed works can be viewed until Friday December 12 at the offices of Clare County Council, Áras Contae and Chláir, New Road, Ennis, Co. Clare between 9am and 5pm. They are also available to view online.
Submissions and observations in relation to the proposals must be made before 4pm on Friday December 12, either by email to ennismunicipaldistrict@clarecoco.ie or in writing to the Senior Engineer, Ennis Municipal District, Clare County Council, Áras Chontae an Chláir, New Road, Ennis.
