ALERT: Motorists warned of delays amid three-week road closure in busy Clare town

A section of the L-2028 at Killard Road, Doonbeg will be closed to traffic for three weeks

Motorists are being advised of potential delays due to the planned three-week road closure close to Doonbeg village in west Clare.

In a public notice, issued under Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, Clare County Council says a section of the L-2028 at Killard Road, Doonbeg - between entrance to Dun na Mara Estate and the pump station/stream - will be closed to facilitate the installation of a new storm water sewer.

The L-2028 local road links the village and Doonbeg Bay and the local authority says local access will be maintained at all times during the works.

Beginning on Monday, April 28, the closure will operate daily, from 8am to 5pm, until Saturday, May 17.

Alternative routes / diversions
Traffic coming from the village of Doonbeg should continue on the N67 for 1.6km, turning right onto L-6074 road and later onto the L-6072 (see map below).

Clare County Council says delays can be expected during the works, particularly at peak times.

Observations and representations regarding the proposed closure can be made by email or in writing before 4pm on April 11.
