Gardaí in Ennis say they have recently received a number of complaints in regard to illegal parking in the town.

With roadworks planned and various closures scheduled over the coming 18 months, gardai are appealing to motorists to be conscious of others when they are parking their vehicles.

"I’m asking people to consider vulnerable pedestrians with mobility issues, such as wheel chair users and our elderly. Think before you park," said Sergeant Dominic Regan of Ennis garda station.

Gardai are also warning motorists that if they park their vehicle on a footpath or on double yellow line or in a way which obstructs traffic, they are likely to receive a fine.
